Beef-Asparagus Day, Olympia (Feb.)

In a joint effort, the Washington Asparagus Commission, the Washington Cattlemen’s Association, and the Washington Dairy Association join forces to serve more than 1,000 hungry Olympians a hearty meal of beef, grilled asparagus and milk, prepared at the state’s Capitol. The annual event raises awareness of Washington producers’ vital contributions to the economy and more importantly, nourishing its citizens.

Asparagus Fest and Brews at Middleton Farms, Pasco (May/June)

A celebration of Washington asparagus season in the Columbia Basin, this festival marks the first of many fruits and vegetables harvested in the Basin. Asparagus is known as the King of Vegetables and some of the best asparagus in the world is grown in Washington. Purple Asparagus Benefit for the Alzheimer’s Association, Pasco (in season)

Purple is the color for Alzheimer’s. Larsen Farms has a dedicated acre of purple asparagus to sell, but the profit from every single spear goes straight to the Alzheimer’s Association. This annual event, which started in 2019, has raised thousands of dollars annually for the Association, topping out at $35,000 in 2020.
